That means solutions like Velum® Rise fungicide/nematicide insecticide, one of the newest potato crop protection products from Bayer. Velum Rise is a broad spectrum nematicide/fungicide for in-furrow application in potatoes that delivers systemic and preventative protection against crop diseases and nematodes. A co-formulation of fluopyram and penflufen, Velum Rise delivers excellent control of soil-borne black scurf, stem and stolon canker caused by Rhizoctonia solani. Velum Rise also provides suppression of early blight, black dot, white mould and pathogenic nematodes including root lesion, root knot and potato cyst nematodes. Black dot and plant pathogenic nematodes play a major role in increasing the susceptibility of the potato crop to early dying complex.

Velum Rise applied in-furrow is a very different nematode treatment compared to using a chemical fumigant. Whereas fumigants sterilize the soil, removing beneficial organisms as well as pests, Velum Rise only targets nematodes and specific fungi, leaving the beneficial organisms alone and making Velum Rise a more sustainable option.

Combined with Minuet®, a concentrated in-furrow biological fungicide that is specifically designed for soil application, you can expect an excellent addition to your full-season program to support increased crop quality and yield potential.
