From Jennifer Taylor of the West Prince Tired Iron Antique Club:
"This is an Oliver Super 66 and a 2-row potato planter both manufactured by Oliver. The tractor was built in 1958 and originally sent to Freetown, PEI, from manufacture. When I first acquired the tractor in 2020, it was in rough shape as it didn’t run. Later on, I found out that the transmission was scrap, due to the gears being corroded by salt water. After changing out the transmission, the tractor was good as new and has been a huge help on our family farm. The tractor has done various tasks, such as: spreading manure, raking hay, ploughing, etc. Later, I bought the two-row Oliver potato planter in 2023, and it’s quite a unique piece of history in itself! The potato planter was produced during the 1950’s and originally manufactured under the AB Farquhar Company, who specialized in making potato equipment. The company was bought out by Oliver during the 1950’s. This potato planner was part of the Iron heritage line of equipment from Oliver. The potato planter in itself is quite rare in itself; the planter has a dry fertilizer tank, which is an uncommon feature for this planter as I’ve been told. The love and knowledge for antique tractors and equipment is a great passion of mine, as I currently own 10 antique tractors and various farm equipment, and I am still adding to my collection to this day."
